Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik said that state generate Rs.15,000 crore for Indian railway and seeks Rs 5,870 crore in Railway Budget for the year 2017-18. Mostly Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in a letter said to Railway Minister suresh prabhu about the railway package of Rs 5,870 crore. He is also said that the package includes ongoing projects, introduction of new trains, sanctioning of new lines, station modernisation and development of railways and he is also said to the Railway Minister for provide rail facilities in backward regions.
Motsly in earlier Odisha had seek for Rs 5,000 crore for railway budeget of year 2016-17 but received Rs 4,682 crore and this is highest ever central allocation to Odisha state. Odisha CM also referred of doubling of third line of Bargarh-Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur-Titlagarh, new line work of Jaleswar-Digha and many other railway project works. Also in the letter CM said that for upgradtion of passenger amenities at Bhadrak, Puri, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Khurdha, Berhampur railway stations.
